Our Background Our Mission Our Approach Our Tutors Our Venues

I began my career in medical research but realised I wanted to be more involved with people. As a result I took on various voluntary jobs in mental health and care, working for a time in occupational therapy.

My passion has always been dancing and music. I did contemporary and jazz class every week, performing with a semi-professional group. I also competed in sprint races at professional highland games meetings in the summer. Through these activities I was introduced to massage and body work and how the mind body and spirit are linked.

In 1998 I was made redundant when the Medical Research Council closed the unit I was working in so here was my chance! I had trained in massage in 1996 with aromatherapy and then moved on to Seated Acupressure in 1998. In 2001 I became a tutor for the Academy and thoroughly enjoy teaching. I run my own massage therapy business and still dance as much as I can.
