Course Description

The Two day Diploma Course is designed for those Practitioners who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practise of Indian Head Massage. Successful completion of the course, case studies and practical and theory exams leads to a Professional Diploma in Indian Head Massage.

Entry Requirements

Participants must hold, or be studying towards, a professional bodywork qualification including an Anatomy and Physiology element.

We would be grateful if anyone with a medical or other condition that they consider may affect their ability to give or receive massage would contact us prior to the commencement of the course.

Course Content

The history, development and background of Indian Head Massage
Screening and Contra-indications
Treatment Preparation

Indian Head Massage techniques:

• Effleurage
• Petrissage
• Percussion
• Compression
• Holds
• Passive Movements

The Benefits of Indian Head Massage.

A  30 minute massage routine and how to develop shorter, or longer, massage routines.

Course Material

Every student is provided with a manual which is theirs to take away. The manual provides all the information needed to complete the course and acts as a reference book after the course has been completed.

Assessment

Assessment is carried out in three ways:
1. A one hour short answer written paper is completed on day 2.
2. Student Worksheets and Case History Documentation are assessed.
3. A Practical Assessment is completed at the end of day 2 provided all case studies are complete.

Accreditation

An Academy Diploma Certificate will be provided to all those who successfully complete the course and exams, qualifying for CPD points.

The price of the course is £175, which includes a non-refundable deposit of £60
