Seated Acupressure (On Site Massage)
Seated Acupressure is a short, through the clothes, acupressure (pressure point) style massage carried out with the client sitting on a specially designed chair and concentrating on the main stress bearing areas of the upper body - the upper and lower back, neck, shoulders, forearms, hands and head. This massage is specifically designed to energize as well as de-stress the recipient and, because of the speed, convenience and invigorating effect is ideal for use in the corporate sector.
Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage is a type of massage, originating in India, carried out with the client sitting fully clothed in an ordinary straight backed chair. It is characterised by brisk rubbing and kneading techniques over the head, neck, shoulders and, if desired, the arms and face can be incorporated. It is particularly effective for head and neck tension and for tension headaches.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a pressure point massage carried out entirely on the feet and around the ankles. It works on the theory that every part of the body is represented in the feet. Reflexology requires that the client lies back, either on a massage or ordinary bed or in a reclining chair, and removes their shoes and socks.
Therapeutic, Holistic, Deep Tissue, Remedial and Aromatherapy Massage
These are collectively known as "Table Massage". The client removes all or some of their clothes and lies, covered with warm towels, on a massage table. Privacy is essential and the room where treatments take place needs to be relatively warm.
Therapeutic and Holistic Massage are non specific and work on the whole person. Deep Tissue and Remedial Massage work more deeply on specific problem areas. All these types of massage involve the use of an oil or cream and Aromatherapy Massage additionally involves the use of Aromatherapy Oils.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu is an acupressure style massage, similar to Seated Acupressure but much broader in its scope. Shiatsu practitioners use the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to diagnose (in terms of TCM) and treat specific conditions. The client remains clothed and lies on a mat or futon. The whole body can be worked on.
