Updated Notice 26 Feb 2021: Although the plan has been announced for a gradual exit from lockdown #3 and an increasing number of people having received their vaccination, it is essential we all still remain vigilant with our social distancing, hand sanitising and other cautionary protocol.
A preliminary date for return to personal care services is the week commencing the 12th April (at the very earliest). As we have previously discussed, massage training courses here at AOSM require vital hands-on practical tutoring.
We have adapted as much as possible and consequently, we now offer part of the training via an on line platform, with a mixture of recorded and live sessions. However, we strongly believe there is absolutely no substitute for practical hands-on training. A vital part of any massage training is the ability of students to both give and receive massage (to and from) fellow students, under the guidance of the tutor. In addition, here at the Academy we ensure that all students experience both receiving from and giving massage to, the tutor. That way, the student receives first hand experience of how the massage and individual techniques should feel, and the tutor can give valuable feedback from a receiver's point of view.
In view of this, our courses remain suspended until such time that it is safe to return which, all being well, means our next courses will take place in September. We will keep you informed.
In the meantime, stay safe and well.
